Solar energy, in layman's terms is the power that comes from the sun's heat and light. All living things have used it since time immemorial and its usage has also progressed as people's technologies have advanced over the years. Scientifically speaking, this energy is what plants use to photosynthesize. Without this, there will be no oxygen in the air and humans will not be able to breathe. People also get to access and harness this energy through the food chain because energy is passed on through eating. Additionally, energy from the sun can also be used in industries and residences.

Power from the sun in industries is usually present in TV and radio stations. It is also often used to convey signals in transportation. Examples for this include lighthouses, caution lights on edifices and pillars for aircrafts, in international steering pointers, and also in signal lights for road traffic. Moreover, the sun's energy can also protect corrosion in bridges and pipelines through the use of certain situation surveillance paraphernalia. It can also be used for cost cutting on heavy electricity using companies by redesigning their power sources to use the sun's power with the help of diesel generators. Solar energy is easy to use, doesn't necessitate much effort to maintain, very dependable and great for difficult to reach locations.

In residences, the use of photovoltaics or PV systems have been growing and growing through out the past years. These grids harness the power from the sun for electrical uses around the house during the hours of the day when sunlight is available. It requires no batteries as solar power is also used to answer to that matter and more and more families, residence areas and even companies are opting for this kind of electricity, as it is both cleaner and cheaper.

The only downside to solar power is when the sun sets, it is no longer available. However, technologies to resolve this matter have now been made accessible to us. Presently, thermal mass systems and materials can be used to store sunlight for a delayed use. The use of the sun's power is rapidly changing the way we live. Pretty soon, it could even possibly be a primary source of electricity. Solar energy is really a resource that people cannot live without. With its many important uses in our daily lives, we can certainly not live without it. As previously mentioned, people even need it to breathe!
